HealthHavenHub looks ahead to hosting its annual Y-Start Bootcamp this July
New Haven’s health tech innovation space continues its mission to support Connecticut healthcare entrepreneurs with programming that equips early and seed stage startup founders with practical tools and relevant knowledge necessary to thrive.
New Haven, July 11, 2019 – HealthHavenHub (‘The HUB’), for the third year, presents Y-Start Bootcamp, an intensive, immersive educational program designed for early and seed stage healthcare startups in mind. Eight teams have been invited to participate in a series of focused workshops that equip founders with practical tools to create a path from idea to product launch and from product launch to global scale. Powered byHealthVenture– a foundry and venture capital firm launching and investing in digital health startups – Y-Start Bootcamp will be hosted at The HUB July 26 and 27.
Recognizing the critical stage of development of these companies, the objective is to provide a curriculum tailored to each founders’ needs and provide learnings through technical workshops where the takeaways can be immediately implemented in the startup’s business. The bootcamp offers a truncated version of HealthVenture’s core business advisory services: pitch training, corporate structure, product design, research and development and team building. The workshops are taught by professionals that collectively bring over 100 years of practical experience as bankers, lawyers, marketing experts and engineers. This year’s program will also feature bootcamp alumni who will share their experiences with the new cohort of bootcamp participants.
This year Cathy Graves, Deputy Director for the City of New Haven Office of Business Development, will kick-off Friday morning with remarks on how New Haven is working toward building an inclusive entrepreneurship ecosystem. Additionally, Y-Start Bootcamp welcomes an amazing line up of workshop instructors and mentorsincluding Andrew Agwunobi, CEO of UConn Health and EVP for Health Affairs, Patricia Melton, President of New Haven Promise, Erick Rios, Partner at Big Bang, Victor Padilla-Taylor, Director of Partnerships at Yale Tsai CITY and more.
The HUB welcomes you to reach out and get involved. Founders are invited to apply through the website by July 19!
